The internet has prevented me from posting. It connects and disconnects and connects and disconnects at the most inconvenient moment.

So I’ll make this post lengthened.

I’ve returned from a competition held in KK.

The trip of sitting in the car from Brunei to KK was not a new experience for me. But this time I stayed awake all the way till the city before KK. Then I fell asleep.

My dad kept frozen red bull in a thermobag and when the ice finally melted we could drink it. After 7 hours you can still feel it as cold. Not very cold, but cold enough to enjoy.

Once there we quickly check in and unpack our luggage. And since we arrived to KK by car, we had an advantage that is transport. We could go anywhere in KK. So we went out to have dinner. The food in malaysia is so much and so good. Good food everywhere (not fast food). I particularly disliked hotel food.

When we returned to the hotel, we tried exploring the ballroom. It was around 9.30 pm. There were security guards but they allowed us to explore. I practiced my 6 songs in one room before moving on to another. Which isn’t sound proof. I could hear people playing from other rooms in this particular room. Half way through, a family came in to stare at me by the door and then shortly departed. Not long after them leaving was a short lady with a tag around her neck. She said we shouldn’t practice because if one participant practices, the other 500 would like to as well. As I stepped out of the room, I could see the same family standing by the ballroom entrance. I can tell for sure that they were the ones who told the story. I practiced anyways, so I didn’t mind. If they didn’t tell on us, they could practice anyways.

I won three golds for Chopin’s Etude op10-12 “Revolutionary”, Mozart’s Turkish march and Joplin’s Maple leaf rag. I won a silver for Nostradamus and a bronze for Gershwin’s Prelude. Now if you total that up it is only 5 awards. But I played 6.

I lost in the Baroque Category for my Prelude and fugue. With a score of 61. I practically crashed and burned in this session because I think I got a little to over excited on my first gold.

But oh well, it was a really enjoyable and fun experience for me.

Two weeks after our return was a recital for the winners. Where all the winners gathered and played one piece from the competition and after that , we had dinner.

And just yesterday was my friend’s Birthday party. I wore slippers and for the first time ever, got sunburnt. In the most peculiar areas-my feet-.

This was a really activity filled holiday for me because usually I would be at home practicing. School is reopening soon and things are getting harder as it is the last semester of the year.

To me, my main philosophy is to not waste time, work hard and hard then harder and try not to be distracted.
