Today being the last day of 2010,before the clock strikes 12 and we see all the good and the bad memories, experiences fade away into a new phase, we celebrate. For the achievements we’ve made this year. I hope everyone is going to be resolute with their resolutions, and not make the same mistake they did every year. I”ve just return to a long piece I’ve been trying to learn; none other than Beethoven’s third movement of his 14th sonata. The moonlight. Now I kind of see the patterns and the ease in playing the devilish staircase of arpeggios. Try running twenty flights of stairs, thats just the thing. I’m going to show you three people playing the same thing.
-WILHELM KEMPFF
-DANIEL BARENBOIM
-VALENTINA LISITSA
Its all utterly crazy. The head of the craziness :BEETHOVEN. Kempff was playing a pace slower then the other two, probably of his age. He had extreme control over it and was the master in expressing of the three. Barenboim was playing at a fast pace , being extremely fine with the touches. Very classical and dynamic. It was like a finely cooked dinner that we all will enjoy. He was the better crafter and player out of three. I think his interpretation was the best. Lisitsa was playing at a very fast pace. In complete control of what she was playing. Tireless climbing the stairs with constant energy. Very dynamic and very exciting. Out of the three, she was the most technical one. All of these are in my opinion. Very interesting isn’t it ??
