A Romanian unison pianist is scheduled to perform at The Gilmore, located on 359 S. Kalamazoo Mall, Suite 101, on Monday, Jan. 31, at 8 p.m.
Radu Lupu, innate in Galati, Romania, in 1945, initial began receiving piano lessons when he was 6 years old, according to his autobiography on Decca Records, a record tag formed out of the United Kingdom.

Lupu, who initial achieved live when he was 12 years old, has vanished on to perform with assorted orchestras around the world and has placed initial in 3 general piano competitions. The competitions he has won add the 1966Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, the 1967Enescu International Piano Competition and the 1969Leeds International Piano Competition.
Mary McCormick, executive of selling and open family at The Gilmore, mentioned that the routine to obtain Lupu to perform in Kalamazoo has been a decade in the making.
“We have been perplexing to obtain Lupu to advance to Kalamazoo for 10 years now,” McCormick said. “It will be truly an unusual experience to see him live.”
The reason for this, McCormick said, is that Lupu, who is now furloughed North America until Saturday, Feb. 12, boundary his engagements.
“Rather than a lot of pianists who similar to to concentration on self-promotion, Lupu is all about the music,” McCormick said. “That is because recordings of his performances are moreover limited.”
